At Tarsah, we are committed to making your payment experience simple, secure, and transparent. This Payment Policy explains how we accept and process payments for orders placed through our online store at tarsah.com or at our physical retail locations in Egypt, Germany, and Bulgaria.

This policy complies with applicable consumer protection and financial regulations in:

Payment Processor & Security

All online payments are securely processed through Stripe, a globally trusted and PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. Stripe handles all card transactions and digital wallet payments on our behalf.

3.1 What This Means for You

  • Your payment details are never stored on Tarsah's servers
  • All transactions are protected by SSL/TLS encryption
  • Stripe applies 3D Secure (3DS2) authentication where required, in compliance with EU Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) regulations under PSD2
  • Tarsah staff cannot access your full card details at any time

Currencies & Pricing

We currently support the following currencies at checkout:

Prices displayed on our website are shown in your selected currency and include all applicable taxes (VAT where applicable). The currency is automatically selected based on your region and can be changed manually using the currency selector on our website.

⚠️ Please Note:

  • Your bank or card issuer may apply foreign exchange fees if your account currency differs from the transaction currency. These fees are outside our control and are not covered by Tarsah.
  • Product prices may vary slightly between currencies due to exchange rate fluctuations. The price shown at checkout is the final price you will be charged.

Order Confirmation & Payment Authorization

When you place an order, the following payment process applies:

Payment Authorization

Your payment is authorized at the time of checkout. This places a hold on the funds but does not yet constitute a completed charge.

Order Confirmation Email

You will receive an order confirmation email summarizing your purchase. This email confirms that we have received your order but does not constitute acceptance by Tarsah.

Payment Capture

Your payment is fully captured once your order has been confirmed, packed, and is ready for dispatch.

Order Acceptance

Your order is officially accepted when payment has been successfully captured and you receive a dispatch notification with your tracking details.

⚠️ Important: Tarsah reserves the right to cancel an order and issue a full refund if payment cannot be successfully captured, if a product becomes unavailable, or if fraudulent activity is suspected.

Failed or Declined Payments

If your payment fails or is declined, your order will not be processed. Common reasons for payment failure include:

  • Insufficient funds
  • Incorrect card details entered
  • Card expired or blocked for online transactions
  • Bank or card issuer declined the transaction
  • 3D Secure authentication not completed

6.1 What to Do

  1. Double-check your card details and try again
  2. Contact your bank or card issuer to authorize the transaction
  3. Try an alternative payment method at checkout
  4. If the issue persists, contact us at support@tarsah.com

📌 Tarsah is not responsible for any charges or holds applied by your bank as a result of a failed payment attempt.

Refunds & Payment Reversals

Refunds are processed in accordance with our Refund Policy. Below is a summary of available refund methods and expected timelines:

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used wherever possible. In cases where the original method is unavailable, we will offer an alternative refund method agreed upon with you directly.

📌 Bank processing times may vary. If you do not receive your refund within 14 business days of our confirmation, please contact your bank or card issuer before reaching out to us.

Fraud Prevention

To protect our customers and our business, Tarsah uses automated fraud detection tools provided by Stripe. In cases where a transaction is flagged as potentially fraudulent, we may:

  • Request additional identity verification before processing your order
  • Place your order on hold pending review
  • Cancel your order and issue a full refund
  • Report suspected fraud to the relevant authorities

📌 We take these measures to protect all of our customers and to comply with applicable financial regulations. If your order is placed on hold, our support team will contact you within 1–2 business days.

Legal Rights (EU Customers)

🇪🇺 For customers in Germany and Bulgaria:

Under the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2) and the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have the following rights in relation to payments:

  • The right to be clearly informed of all costs before completing a purchase
  • The right to dispute unauthorized transactions with your payment provider
  • The right to a refund for cancelled or undelivered orders within the statutory timeframe
  • Protection against unauthorized charges under Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

🇩🇪 German Customers

Your statutory payment rights are further protected under § 675f BGB (Payment Services Contract) and § 312g BGB (Right of Withdrawal for Distance Contracts).

🇧🇬 Bulgarian Customers

Your consumer payment rights are protected under the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act, Chapter Seven and the Bulgarian Payment Services and Payment Systems Act.
